Zaphiro Tsitsiou

Zaphiro Tsitsiou is a Special Teaching Staff member in Human Rights and Civil Law at the University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus), affiliated with the School of Law. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Glasgow (2020), an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Nottingham (2014), and an LLB from the University of Kent (2013). Her roles include LLM Programme Leader at Unicaf (2024), Associate Lecturer at Alexander College (2020–2023), and Advocate at Tsitsios & Associates LLC (2020–2024). She has also served as a Research Associate at the University of East Anglia (2020–2021).

Research Interests: Constitutional Law, EU Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights, Legal Theory, and EU Law. Recent teaching includes courses on International Human Rights, Tort Law, Equity and Trusts, and Legal Reasoning.

Publications & Presentations: Key works include a PhD thesis on Cyprus’ European constitutional dynamics (2020), contributions to EU social security reports (2023), and collaborative research on energy prosumer transitions (2021). She has presented at the University of Cyprus Law Department and the University of Glasgow’s Globalisation and Legal Theory Colloquium.

Affiliations: Member of the Cyprus Bar Association and Famagusta Bar Association since 2016. Engaged in CPD training and legal consultancy through Human Resource Development Authority collaborations.
