Zuzana Vikarska

Zuzana Vikarska is a Visiting Professor of European Constitutional Law at the School of Law, University of Central Lancashire Cyprus (UCLan Cyprus), affiliated with the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence for the Rule of Law and European Values (CRoLEV). She concurrently holds positions as Assistant Professor of Constitutional Law at Masaryk University (Czechia) and Assistant Professor of European Union Law at Palacký University (Czechia). Her academic career includes roles as an Attorney-at-Law (Czech Bar Association member) and Principal Investigator for the DialogUE research project funded by the Czech Science Foundation (2022–2025).

Dr. Vikarska holds a PhD in Jurisprudence from Charles University (2018), MPhil in European Union Law and MJur from the University of Oxford (2015–2018), and a Master in Law from Charles University (2012). Her research focuses on constitutional identity, preliminary reference mechanisms, law and technology, medical law ethics, and judicial dialogue within the EU framework.

• Key Research Themes: National vs. EU constitutional frameworks, mutual trust in legal systems, law and religion intersections, and transgender rights litigation.
• Grants: Principal Investigator for DialogUE (CZ£1.2M), studying judicial responses to EU rulings in Czechia and Slovakia.

She has received prestigious awards including the 2023 Masaryk University Rector’s Award for Teaching Excellence and the Flamma Award for inspiring legal professionals. Her work spans scholarly publications, international conferences, and editorial roles at journals like Ratio Publica. She actively participates in legal clinics, moot courts, and transnational research networks such as the re:constitution group.
