Charilaos Velaris serves as Special Teaching Staff in Cyprus Law at UCLan Cyprus' School of Law. He maintains an active dual career as both an academic and practicing lawyer, bringing real-world litigation experience into the classroom.

His research focuses on the intersection of Cypriot constitutional law with European Union legal frameworks, particularly examining how EU law supplements traditional human rights protections. His scholarly work demonstrates expertise in constitutional interpretation, international commercial litigation, and the application of European Convention on Human Rights within Cypriot jurisdiction.
His publications reveal a consistent focus on constitutional challenges within the Cypriot legal system and the evolving relationship between national law and European legal frameworks.
