Dr. Leonie Kronborg serves as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the School of Educational Psychology & Counselling at Monash University, where she teaches graduate courses including Educating the Gifted, Talent Development and Diversity, and Gifted Education. Her academic work focuses on transforming gifted potential into eminence, particularly for females, with extensive research on talent development pathways and teacher preparation for gifted education.
Dr. Kronborg's research interests span gifted education, talent development, creativity research, and educational psychology, with special emphasis on gifted females, teacher education for gifted students, and gifted children with learning disabilities. Her work consistently examines how educational environments can optimally support talent development, particularly investigating the transformation of gifted potential into eminence among women. Recent publications explore the complex relationship between artistic creativity and mental health among eminent female visual artists, as well as the socio-emotional dimensions of high-achieving students.
Her publication record demonstrates consistent scholarly output with 76 research outputs documented, including numerous articles in prominent journals such as the Journal of Creative Behavior and Gifted and Talented International. These works reveal a strong thematic focus on female talent development trajectories, the psychological aspects of high achievement, and effective educational practices for gifted learners. The research shows evolution from foundational work on curriculum differentiation to more recent sophisticated examinations of eminence pathways and creativity-mental health relationships.
