Leanne Taylor is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Kent, affiliated with the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research. She holds a LLB (2007-10) and advanced qualifications in Legal Practice and Higher Education. Her professional background includes over two decades as a mental health social worker in Kent County Council, maintaining her registered social worker status.
Teaching responsibilities include convening law modules for BA, Degree Apprenticeship, MA, and Step UP Social Work programs. She leads workshops on mental health, adult social care, child protection, and social work with transgender/gender-diverse populations across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Professionally, Taylor serves as Chief Examiner for Kent's social work programs, a panel member on the First Tier Tribunal (Mental Health), and provides training on LGBT+ issues/mental health for the Judicial College and social work organizations.
