Professor Lauren Devine is a Professor of Language and Law at Aston University's Aston Law School. She holds multiple qualifications including a PhD in Law from the University of Birmingham and a MA in Corpus Linguistics from Lancaster University. Her research focuses on intersections between language, law, and child protection, with particular emphasis on corpus linguistics methods applied to legal discourse analysis.

Professor Devine has supervised doctoral research on topics like corpus analysis of family justice systems and statutory interpretation of threatening communications. She is a media commentator featured on BBC and Channel 4 News, and advises on legal and policy matters through her role as a Barrister of Inner Temple. Current PhD supervision focuses on corpus linguistics applied to child protection law and safeguarding.
