Stephen Parker is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Aston University's Aston Law School, part of the College of Business and Social Sciences. He holds a unique interdisciplinary background with degrees in Chemical Engineering, Law, and Corpus Linguistics. His research focuses on applying corpus linguistic methods to legal analysis, particularly in family justice, risk prediction, and expert evidence. He leads and collaborates on major grants, including an ESRC £2.5m project on safeguarding and family justice. Currently accepting PhD students, he emphasizes AI's role in legal processes and challenges its overreliance as a 'panacea.'
