Kristine Stepenuck is an Extension Associate Professor at the University of Vermont's Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, where she also serves as Associate Director of Lake Champlain Sea Grant. With over 20 years of experience, she focuses on community engagement to improve watershed health through outreach and research. Her roles include leadership in volunteer water monitoring networks and educational initiatives.
Educational Background: PhD in Environment and Resources (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2013); MS in Natural Resources (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 1999); BS in Water Resource Management (University of New Hampshire, 1995).
Research emphasizes behavior change from outreach programs, land use impacts on water quality, and volunteer motivations in citizen science. She contributes to the Citizen Science: Theory and Practice journal as a section editor and collaborates with the Lake Champlain Basin Program's Education and Outreach committee.
