Kevin Quirk is an Advanced Lecturer in the Department of English at Loyola University Chicago. With over three decades of teaching experience, he specializes in English language, writing, and literature. He holds a PhD in American Studies from the University of Iowa (following an AB from Dartmouth College and an MA from the University of Iowa). His research focuses on Contemporary American Fiction, Autobiography/Memoir, Literary Reception, and Rhetoric/Composition. He emphasizes critical thinking in writing courses and explores language's societal role in literature classes.
