
Shelby Sleevi

Shelby Sleevi is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Loyola University Chicago. She holds a BA from Wheeling Jesuit University, an MA from Georgetown University, and a PhD from Loyola University Chicago.

Her research focuses on twentieth and twenty-first century fiction, with particular emphasis on modernism and narrative theory. She explores how iterative narration shapes literary interpretation in works like Gertrude Stein’s Three Lives and Julie Otsuka’s The Buddha in the Attic.
Shelby’s recent publication in Feminist Modernist Studies (2023) examines narrative techniques in modernist texts during pandemic-related publishing challenges. She teaches core literature and writing courses at Loyola.
