Julie Fiorelli is a Senior Lecturer and Writing Across the Curriculum Coordinator at Loyola University Chicago's Department of English within the Crown Center for the Humanities. She teaches writing and literature courses emphasizing process-oriented workshops and discussion-based analysis. Her research focuses on multiethnic American literature (African American/Asian American), race studies, and speculative fiction.

Her research explores intersections of race, utopian ideals, and genre in literary works. Recent publications analyze Mat Johnson's Pym, Pauline Hopkins' Of One Blood, and apocalyptic race-war novels from the 1960s. She received the Liebentritt Faculty Development Award (2019-2020).
