Kelley Main is a Professor of Marketing at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, and currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. She holds the F. Ross Johnson Fellow title and has served in administrative roles such as Associate Dean of Social Sciences and Head of the Marketing Department. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, persuasion, trust, advertising, and public policy, with over 30 publications in top-tier journals like Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Retailing.
Dr. Main earned her B.A. (Honors) in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg, her M.A. in Psychology from the University of Manitoba, and her Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing specialization) from the University of British Columbia. She has received prestigious awards including the Park Prize (2010) and the Journal of Consumer Psychology Young Contributor Award (2007), and serves on the editorial board of Journal of Public Policy and Marketing.
Her research explores themes such as consumer responses to persuasion tactics, the impact of social exclusion on advertising perception, and the psychology of luxury consumption. Notable contributions include studies on how environmental cues influence luxury preferences and the paradoxical role of flow states in gambling behavior.
In community outreach, she has addressed topics like LGBTQ+ representation in advertising and minority group reactions to ads. Her work bridges theoretical insights with practical applications in policy and marketing strategy.
