Julien PERIARD is a Research Professor and Deputy Director of the University of Canberra Research Institute for Sport and Exercise (UCRISE). He previously served as former Head of Research Operations at Aspetar, Qatar. His expertise focuses on environmental physiology, particularly heat and altitude effects on health and performance.

Over 120 publications, including a textbook on Heat Stress in Sport and Exercise, and invited reviews in Physiol Rev. Editor roles at Front Physiol and Br J Sports Med.

Advises PhD candidates and collaborates on grants including Australia-China ACTIVE Research Program and FIFA cooling policies. Directs UCRISE labs and leads international projects on athlete health and performance.
