معرفی
Jo Wilding is an Associate Professor at the University of Sussex's School of Law, Politics and Sociology, specializing in legal aid and access to justice with a focus on immigration, asylum, and social welfare law. She holds a PhD from the University of Brighton and previously practiced as a barrister at Garden Court Chambers in London.
Her research examines:
- Legal aid market dynamics and accessibility
- Impact of austerity on immigration legal services
- Geographical disparities in legal advice provision
- Systemic barriers for vulnerable populations
Wilding's publications demonstrate consistent focus on justice accessibility, with recent works analyzing policy impacts (LASPO Act), conceptual frameworks ('advice deserts'), and community-centered solutions. Her articles frequently employ mixed-methods approaches combining legal analysis with empirical socio-legal research.
She directs the ESRC-funded project Social Welfare and Immigration Legal Aid: Mapping need, provision and accessibility (2022-2025) and chairs a JUSTICE working group on the Windrush Compensation Scheme. She co-supervises the Sussex Migration Law Clinic and maintains an associate tenancy at Garden Court Chambers.
