Catherine Evans

Catherine Evans is a Senior Lecturer at London South Bank University in the School of Law and Social Sciences. She serves as Director of the university's award-winning Legal Advice Clinic, where students provide supervised legal aid in social welfare law. Her work focuses on public and human rights law, particularly around access to justice and reparation schemes.

Evans teaches Legal Advice Clinical, Public Law, and European Human Rights. She founded the Windrush Justice Clinic to support victims of the Windrush Scandal, advocating for legal aid in compensation claims against the Home Office. Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing human rights and social justice.

Active in clinical legal education, she co-authored studies on the impact of extended clinical placements on student attainment. She also contributes to policy analysis through collaborative research projects and serves as a trustee for Colombian Caravana, a charity addressing human rights defender issues in Colombia.
