Reverend Professor Jeremy Begbie is the Thomas A. Langford Distinguished Research Professor of Theology at Duke Divinity School and founding Director of Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts. He is also an Affiliated Lecturer at the Faculty of Music, University of Cambridge, and Senior Member at Wolfson College Cambridge.
His research focuses on the intersection of Christian theology and the arts, with a particular emphasis on music. He explores how theology interacts with artistic practices and how the arts can invigorate theological inquiry. His work spans systematic theology, cultural critique, and interdisciplinary studies.
Selected Publications: His notable books include Abundantly More: Theology and the Arts in a Reductionist Culture (2023), A Peculiar Orthodoxy: Reflections on Theology and the Arts (2018), and Theology, Music and Time (2000). These works highlight his expertise in music-theology dialogues and cultural engagement.
