Miranda Francis is a professor and Head of Junior Programmes at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where she has worked since 2008. She leads aural training for the BMus programme and advocates for music education.
Education:
- Studied Double Bass, Organ, and Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music
- Holds qualifications: ARAM, MA, LRAM, ARCM, PGCE
Research & Expertise: Focuses on performance assessment methods and pedagogical approaches to aural training. She has extensive experience leading music departments in state and independent schools, including founding the Jazz Department at the Purcell School.

- Principal Examiner of Performance at Advanced Level for Edexcel
- Advisor for the Mayor’s Music Fund and ABRSM
- Active in teacher training and national educators' courses
