Jennifer E. Bone

Jennifer E. Bone serves as the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and a Teaching Professor in the Professional Effectiveness Division at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. She holds a PhD from the University of Colorado Boulder (2007), an MA from Colorado State University (2000), and a BA from Cornell University (1997).

Professor Bone specializes in business communication with research focusing on communicative practices that restrict marginalized groups from leadership advancement. Her work particularly examines how conflict management and negotiation practices affect women in leadership positions. She teaches courses in communication strategy, essential management skills, negotiation and conflict resolution, business writing and communication, women and leadership, and communication pedagogy. Additionally, she facilitates workshops on conflict management, executive presence, presentational speaking, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Her scholarly contributions include coauthoring the textbook Invitation to Human Communication and publishing articles in regional journals such as Western Journal of Communication and Women's Studies in Communication, along with writing instructor's manuals and teaching supplements for public speaking textbooks.

In her administrative role as Associate Dean, Bone oversees curriculum development, collaborates closely with career and advising teams, serves on the Dean's Cabinet, manages the Dean's Fellows Program, and participates in school and campus-wide committees to promote high-quality educational standards. Previously, she served as associate chair for the Professional Effectiveness division, where she was responsible for recruitment, curriculum development, scheduling, and cross-divisional collaboration.
