Salma T. Shukri

Dr. Salma T. Shukri serves as an Associate Teaching Professor and Associate Chair of the Professional Effectiveness Division at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. In her administrative role, she oversees scheduling, faculty recruitment, curriculum development, and cross-divisional collaboration.

Dr. Shukri earned her BA from CU Boulder, followed by her MA and PhD in Communication from the University of Denver. As a former Buff who returned to her alma mater, she brings both academic expertise and institutional knowledge to her position.

Her research and teaching focus centers on practical communication skills essential for business success. She specializes in areas including intercultural communication, organizational behavior, emotional intelligence, and executive presence. Dr. Shukri has developed expertise in conflict mediation and cross-cultural dialogue, which informs both her academic work and consulting practice.

Dr. Shukri teaches undergraduate and MBA courses including Communication Strategy, BASE, Organizational Behavior, and Managerial Communication. Her consulting work with local and international organizations demonstrates the practical application of her expertise in conflict mediation and cross-cultural communication.
