Jay White is an Assistant Professor at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, working at the intersection of animation filmmaking, visual arts, and environmental storytelling. His creative practice includes award-winning animated films exhibited internationally at festivals like TIFF, Stuttgart Trickfilm Festival, and Hiroshima, as well as collaborative projects like the nonfiction graphic novel Field Guides for Listeners with Jenni Schine, focusing on wild salmon and ecological research in Musgamagw Dzawada'enuxw Territory.

- Indigenous to Ktaqamkuk (Newfoundland), living on Nex̱wlélex̱m / Bowen Island
His work explores themes of ecological crises, human-nature relationships, and psychedelic narratives through installations, animations, and graphic novels. Recent projects include the Microcosmology film series featuring unconventional protagonists like petrochemicals and insects.
