Laura Anh Williams is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at New Mexico State University, where she serves as Director of Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her scholarly work bridges queer theory, cultural studies, and digital humanities, with a focus on graphic narratives, food studies, and transnational feminist praxis.

Research & Creative Practice
Laura's research examines intersections of queer ecologies, Asian American visual culture, and feminist pedagogy. She co-founded the Feminist Border Arts platform and film festival, curating digital works that center LGBTQIA+ and transnational themes. Her creative practice includes comics, zines, and short films like Road and Speak Near, exploring queer aesthetics through digital storytelling.
Publications & Grants
Her publications include chapters on queer manga, feminist food studies, and public scholarship frameworks. She has presented her film works at institutions such as 516 ARTS and the Center for Contemporary Art. Laura's work integrates anti-oppressive pedagogical practices through the Writing Program at NMSU.
