Jane Warwick is an Associate Teaching Professor and PGCE Primary Programme Manager at the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge. With over 16 years in her role, she oversees the Primary PGCE course, which has achieved three 'outstanding' Ofsted inspections. Her expertise spans teacher education, mentoring, and trainee wellbeing, with a focus on primary education, science, and physical education.
Qualifications include a BEd (Hons) from the University of Cambridge, an MA in Effective Learning (distinction) from the University of London, and a Primary Certificate in Health and Well-being Coaching from the ICSP.
Her research interests include mentoring in initial teacher education (ITE), trainee wellbeing, men in primary education, metacognition and self-regulation, and teacher development. She has contributed to projects such as the SKIMA and ChAT initiatives, advancing frameworks for teacher knowledge and classroom dialogue.
Jane leads the Dialogic Mentoring and Men in Primary projects and is involved in the Primary PGCE and Level 2 Mentoring courses. Her work emphasizes practical resources for mentor training and psychological health support for trainees.
Before academia, she taught in primary schools for 15 years and held senior management roles. She remains active in professional bodies like the British Educational Research Association and APTE.
