Lisa Bramwell is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Wolverhampton, Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing, based at the Walsall Campus. She joined the Primary ITT team in September 2017 after an extensive career as a primary school teacher and Deputy Headteacher. Her role focuses on undergraduate placements, mentor training, and module leadership in professional studies and the wider curriculum.
Her educational background includes:
- BEd (Hons) Primary with QTS
- Postgraduate Certificate in SEN and Inclusion
- Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and Professional Practice
- Masters in Education (with distinction)
Lisa's research centers on mentoring in primary initial teacher training and teacher-pupil relationships. She has a strong commitment to early years education and student wellbeing, particularly during placement learning. She co-developed the PACE project to address mental health challenges among trainees and holds a Level 3 qualification in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health.
Her work has been disseminated through national and international platforms such as the Teacher Educator Advancement Network (TEAN) and the International Professional Development Association (IDPA). She serves as an External Examiner for the University of Northampton and was selected for the 2024 Aurora leadership development program for women in higher education.

Lisa supervises research at level 6 and supports trainees across undergraduate and postgraduate routes. She leads Early Years enhancement units and was part of the GEB EYITT team during an Ofsted inspection. She has collaborated with the University Mental Health team and trainees to co-create wellbeing resources.
Lisa is actively involved in academic leadership and professional development, organizing events such as the School of Education’s 2025 International Women’s Day conference. Her industry experience includes teaching in mainstream and special needs schools in the UK and New Zealand, enriching her pedagogical approach with international perspectives.
