Prof. Jaap Sijmons is a Professor at Utrecht University's Molengraaff Institute for Private Law within the Utrecht University School of Law. His primary research focuses on health law, including private and administrative aspects of healthcare regulation, medical ethics, and institutional governance. He teaches in the master's program and has held roles such as deputy judge at the Amsterdam Court of Justice and member of the Dutch Health Council. His work emphasizes critical legal analysis of evolving healthcare systems, including topics like healthcare contracts, liability, and regulatory frameworks. Sijmons has authored over 100 publications and actively participates in advisory committees and professional organizations like the Association for Health Law.
