J. Roc Jih is a Lecturer in Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (GSD) and Associate Professor of the Practice in MIT’s Department of Architecture. Their work bridges pedagogy, practice, and research, focusing on architectural form’s relationship with material ecologies, geometry, cultural practices, and identity.

- B.A. in Architectural Studies & Sculpture, Brown University (Magna cum Laude, Honors)
Research & Practice: Studio J. Jih explores innovative construction systems like mono-material basalt systems, supported by MIT’s Bose Research Grant. Their work has been featured in CNN, The New York Times, Wallpaper*, and exhibited at the National Building Museum.
