Indranil Goswami is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Marketing Dean’s Faculty Fellow at the University at Buffalo’s School of Management. His research focuses on pro-social behavior, motivation and self-control, choice architecture, and judgment and decision-making. Goswami holds a PhD and MBA from the University of Chicago, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from MICA (Ahmedabad, India), and a BEng from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, India.

His research explores how time limits, incentives, and framing influence consumer and managerial decisions. Notable contributions include studies on fundraising effectiveness, hiring compensation biases, and the psychological dynamics of motivation post-incentives.
Awards include the AMA Sheth Consortium Fellowship (2014), Kilts Center Doctoral Fellowship (2015), and MICA Gold Medal (2009). He has co-invented a US patent on natural language query systems (2004).
