معرفی
Professor Ian Baker is the Sherman Fairchild Professor of Engineering and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College. He leads interdisciplinary research in materials science with a focus on energy systems, magnetic materials, and the mechanical behavior of alloys and ice structures.
- Department: Engineering Sciences
- Key Affiliations: Ice Research Laboratory, AAAS Fellow, TMS Fellow
His research spans phase transformations in high-entropy alloys, electron microscopy, x-ray diffraction, and the microstructure of snow and ice. Recent work explores additive manufacturing of Mn-Al permanent magnets and sustainable energy materials like oxide solar absorbers.
His publications highlight collaborations with PhD students and postdocs in areas such as magnetic hyperthermia and biomaterials. Awards include AAAS, TMS, and ASM International fellowships, alongside recognition in the ISI high-cited scientists list.
