Martin Sahlberg is a Professor at Uppsala University's Ångström Laboratory specializing in Inorganic Chemistry. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of bulk materials for energy storage and conversion, particularly through diffraction techniques, absorption/desorption measurements, and electrochemical methods. He also serves as Director for the Swedish research school on neutron scattering (SwedNess).
- Research Interests: Energy storage, magnetocaloric effect, neutron scattering, hydrogen storage, high-entropy alloys, additive manufacturing, and intermetallic compounds.
- Publications highlight trends in:
- Using additive manufacturing (laser powder bed fusion) to tailor material properties
- Investigating magnetocaloric materials for magnetic refrigeration
- Developing high-entropy alloys for hydrogen storage applications
- Studying phase transitions and structural stability via neutron diffraction
His work frequently involves collaborations with researchers across Europe, including studies on magnetic imaging, thermal hysteresis, and advanced materials processing.
