Victorino Franco

Prof. Victorino Franco is a Full Professor (Catedrático de Universidad) at the University of Sevilla's Department of Condensed Matter Physics. His research focuses on magnetocaloric materials, magnetic refrigeration, and the microstructure-property relationships in soft magnetic alloys. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Sevilla University in 1999 and has held academic positions there since 1999, progressing to his current rank in 2012.

His research interests include the magnetocaloric effect, nanocrystalline materials, and high entropy alloys. He has over 150 peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized with awards such as the Young Scientist Award (2000) and the Royal Order of Chivalry of Sevilla (2005). Dr. Franco chairs the Magnetic Materials Committee at TMS and has organized international conferences like the Materials Research Congress in Cancun (2013).

His work spans collaborations with institutions globally, including Ames Laboratory (USA), NIST (USA), and the University of South Florida. Key contributions include advancements in additive manufacturing of magnetocaloric composites and strategies for optimizing high entropy alloys for energy applications.
