Victorino Franco

Victorino Franco is a Professor in the Condensed Matter Physics Department at the University of Seville, Spain. His research focuses on magnetic materials for energy applications, including soft-magnetic and magnetocaloric materials. He has published over 165 peer-reviewed technical articles and held leadership roles in academic societies, such as chairing the Spain Chapter of the IEEE Magnetics Society and the Magnetic Materials Committee of the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS).

Research Interests: His work centers on advancing magnetic materials for sustainable energy technologies, with a focus on optimizing soft-magnetic materials for efficiency and exploring magnetocaloric properties for refrigeration applications.

• Scientific Awards: Young Scientist Award (Royal Physical Society of Spain, 2000); IEEE Fellow (2024).

Leadership Roles: He has served as editor and publications chair for Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (MMM) conferences and will hold the general chair position at the 2022 Joint MMM-Intermag Conference. Additionally, he participates in IEEE Magnetics Society committees, including the Fellow Nominations Committee and Chapters Committee (2023–2025).
