Hans W. Friederiszick is a Research Fellow at ESMT Berlin and Managing Director of E.CA Economics, a top global antitrust consultancy. He previously served in the European Commission’s DG COMP Chief Economist Team (2003–2006), contributing to landmark reforms like the State Aid Action Plan. His expertise spans applied microeconomics, industrial organization, and competition law, with a focus on antitrust enforcement, cartel litigation, and state aid control.
Education: Dr. rer. pol. and Diplom-Vw from the Free University of Berlin. He has advised on high-profile cases such as the Lafarge-Holcim merger and global air cargo cartel litigation, earning recognition as Germany’s leading competition economist (WWL 2019). His research appears in journals like the Journal of Antitrust Enforcement and the OECD’s background papers.
