Bernd Meyring is a Visiting Professor at the European Legal Studies Department of the College of Europe. With over 20 years of experience as a European competition lawyer, he advises corporates, banks, and institutions on EU/global merger control, cartel investigations, and state aid matters.

Research Interests span competition law, antitrust litigation, EU regulatory frameworks, and foreign direct investment proceedings. His expertise includes representing clients before the General Court and Court of Justice of the European Union in cases involving state aid, transparency, and environmental regulation.
Education includes law degrees from Würzburg and Munich, a Master’s from the College of Europe, Ph.D. in international law from Humboldt University, and training at the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA).
Publications address key competition law topics such as merger control, cartel enforcement, state aid, and regulatory transparency, with a focus on EU and international legal frameworks.
