Damien GérARD

Damien GérARD is a Visiting Professor at the University of Louvain (UCL Belgium), holding dual affiliations with the European Economic Studies Department and the European Law and Economic Analysis Department. He concurrently serves as a Research Fellow at the Charles de Visscher Center for European and International Law. Since December 2021, he has been appointed by the Belgian King as Prosecutor General of the Belgian Competition Authority. A member of the New York Bar, he practices as a consultant at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in Brussels. His career includes clerkship at the European Court of Justice under Judge Lenaerts (2003–2004), and academic roles such as Visiting Lecturer in EC Competition Law at University Paris V Descartes (2008–2009) and a Fulbright-Schuman Visiting Research Scholar at Harvard Law School (2009–2010).
