Her research examines EU environmental law, competition policy, human rights, and governance systems, with particular focus on nature conservation effectiveness and regulatory design. The 2015-2021 ERC-funded project 'Legal Architectures' studied how environmental governance rules influence compliance, earning recognition as Ireland's top-ranked ERC grant across disciplines.
Recent publications analyze environmental governance transformations, NGO regulatory roles, and experimental approaches to compliance behavior. Research consistently demonstrates interdisciplinary approaches combining law, economics, and political theory.
