Fanny Langlet is an Assistant Professor on conditional pre-tenure at the Department of Biomedical Sciences within the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) since June 1, 2024. Her research focuses on neuron-glia communication in energy balance and carbohydrate homeostasis, with emphasis on tanycytes and their dysfunction in metabolic disorders like obesity and diabetes.
- Education:
- Bachelor in Cell Biology and Physiology, University of Artois (2005-2008)
- Master in Neuroscience and Biotechnology, University of Lille-Nord-de-France (2008-2010)
- PhD in Physiology and Population Biology, University of Lille-Nord-de-France (2010-2013)
- Master in Epistemology, History of Science and Technology, University of Nantes (2020-2022)
Her work integrates cellular/molecular neurobiology, neuroanatomy, and physiology to study tanycytes' role in metabolic regulation. She has received multiple prestigious grants, including an ERC Starting Grant for her TANGO project.
- Scientific Awards:
- Ambizione Grant (Swiss National Science Foundation, 2017-2021)
- Eccellenza Grant (Swiss National Science Foundation, 2021-2024)
- ERC Starting Grant (European Research Council, Project TANGO)
