Eva Ryrstedt is a Professor at the Department of Law, Lund University, and a Researcher in the Norma Research Programme. Her primary expertise lies in family law, with a focus on intersections between social welfare law, comparative legal analysis, and interdisciplinary methodologies. She holds a LLD and has taught family law at all academic levels, including leading advanced courses like Family Law in a Comparative and EU-legal Perspective.
Her research explores topics such as gender-neutral marriages, child welfare, elder rights, and legal frameworks addressing cognitive disabilities in aging populations. She has collaborated internationally with institutions in Australia, the US, and Europe, and participated in projects funded by the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation and Ragnar Söderberg Foundation.
Ryrstedt actively engages with legal practitioners and policymakers, contributing to governmental reports and international conferences. Her over 100 publications span monographs, journals, and legal commentaries, emphasizing themes like parental rights, autonomy in elder law, and comparative family law trends.
