Eric Millard is an Assistant Professor of Trumpet at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), where he teaches and directs the trumpet studio. He performs with the Charlotte Symphony and曾 served as Third/Associate Principal Trumpet with the Tallahassee Symphony. His chamber music ensembles include the Bluegrass Brass, Garnet and Brass, and the UNC Charlotte Faculty Brass Quintet. Millard has won major competitions such as the International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition and National Trumpet Competition, and his ensembles have performed at festivals like Montreux Jazz and North Sea Jazz.
Education includes a Doctorate and Master’s from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s from the University of Kentucky, studying under Dr. Christopher Moore and others. He actively mentors students, many of whom have achieved honors in national competitions and fellowships. Millard also serves as Conference Stage Manager for the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) and Book Reviews Column Editor for the ITG Journal. He is an S.E. Shires performing artist.
His professional affiliations extend to clinics at universities and high schools nationwide, alongside leadership roles in music education and performance.
