Dr. Emily Laminack Wetzel serves as an Artist Affiliate in the Music Department at Berry College, where she teaches violin, viola, and chamber music. She joined the music faculty at Berry College in 2020, contributing to the institution's musical education programs.
Dr. Wetzel completed her educational journey with a Bachelor of Music from Reinhardt University in 2008, followed by Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Georgia in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Her academic path focused on violin performance with additional expertise in viola and piano.
Her professional expertise spans multiple dimensions of musical performance and instruction:
- Specialized instruction in violin and viola technique
- Chamber music coaching and ensemble direction
- Orchestral performance across diverse musical genres
- Music theory and aural skills instruction
- Performance in international venues and professional recording settings
Dr. Wetzel maintains an active performance career while teaching, with notable affiliations including the Atlanta Trio. Her students have achieved significant recognition in prestigious ensembles including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, GMEA All-State Orchestras, and the National Take a Stand Festival with Gustavo Dudamel.
