James Clark is a Professor of Violin and Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), where he has taught since 2010. His roles include individual violin instruction, orchestral training, and leadership workshops. He is a renowned chamber musician, having collaborated with artists such as Stephen Kovacevich and Mikhail Pletnev, and was a member of the Endellion Quartet and Raphael Ensemble. Clark has held Concert Master positions with major orchestras including the Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. His discography includes acclaimed recordings of works by Bach, Vaughan Williams, and Britten. Beyond performance, he has conducted orchestras like the Philharmonia and the Simon Bolívar Orchestra (invited by Gustavo Dudamel) and contributes to music education through El Sistema in Venezuela. His teaching focuses on preparation for professional orchestral roles and chamber music mentorship.
