Sally Ann Macleod

Sally Ann Macleod is a Professor of Pianoforte and Chamber Music at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). She holds dual professorships in both disciplines and has an extensive performance career.

Education: Studied at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music (JRNCM), continued with Derrick Wyndham at RNCM, and trained under Vlado Perlemuter and Stephen Kovacevich.

Research interests focus on advanced pianoforte techniques and chamber music collaboration. Notable performances include soloist appearances with the Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony, Scottish National Orchestra, and others, working with conductors such as Yan Pascal Tortellier and Neeme Järvi.

Award: Winner of the Dudley National Piano Competition. Active in both pedagogical innovation and professional orchestral engagements.

Labs/Teams: Engaged with RNCM's Keyboard Studies department and chamber music ensembles. Current focus includes curriculum development in performance pedagogy.
