Elli Crocker is a Senior Research Scholar and Professor Emerita in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Clark University. A full-time faculty member since 1994, she previously directed the Studio Art program (2002–2015) and currently leads the Schiltkamp Gallery in Traina Center for the Arts. Her work bridges representational painting, human figure studies, and interdisciplinary explorations of the human/animal interface.

Research & Practice: Crocker’s practice focuses on the human figure, evolving into investigations of human/nature intersections. Notable projects include public commissions (e.g., Boston’s Allston Village trompe l’oeil panels) and exhibitions featured in New American Paintings. Her work explores themes of identity, ecology, and artistic innovation.
Awards & Grants: Supported by the New England Foundation for the Arts, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and St. Botolph Foundation, among others. Residencies include Burren College of Art (Ireland) and Vermont Studio Center.
Teaching & Engagement: Teaches Drawing, Painting, and interdisciplinary courses like Sense of Place. Recent presentations include 2019 demonstrations on anatomical drawing and gallery talks for In the Flesh.
