Katharine Kuharic

Katharine Kuharic is Professor of Art at Hamilton College, appointed in 2007. She teaches Figure Drawing and Advanced Painting while maintaining an active studio practice with over 20 solo exhibitions including seven at New York's P.P.O.W. Gallery.

Her educational background includes:

• B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Carnegie Mellon University
• Advanced studies with Robert Storr and Louise Bourgeois at School of Visual Arts, New York

Kuharic's practice centers on painting and drawing, exploring psychological landscapes through series like "Pound of Flesh" and "The Perch". Her work merges figuration with abstraction using oil, watercolor, and mixed media, often addressing themes of identity, nature, and the human form with visceral intensity.

Her publications from 2002-2012 demonstrate interdisciplinary engagement with color theory, gender studies, and transnational feminism through art criticism and design projects.
