Eliza Au is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Studio Art at the University of North Texas, specializing in Ceramics. She holds a B.F.A. from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Her career includes teaching roles at institutions such as Emily Carr University of Art and Design, the Alberta College of Art and Design, and the University of Iowa. Recently, she contributed to the Alfred-CAFA Program at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China.
Her professional engagements include residencies at Greenwich House Pottery, the Museum of Contemporary Craft, and the Corning Museum of Glass. She has been awarded grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, including a 2023 residency at the Benyamini Contemporary Ceramics Center in Tel Aviv. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, with recognition from platforms like ClayHouston and the James Renwick Alliance.
Awards highlight her mid-career achievements, including the prestigious McKnight Artist Residency in 2021. Her practice intersects contemporary ceramic innovation with cross-cultural artistic collaboration.
