Sanam Emami

Sanam Emami is an Associate Professor of Pottery at Colorado State University, affiliated with the Department of Art and Art History in the College of Liberal Arts. She coordinates the Pottery area and teaches undergraduate courses. Her practice focuses on ceramic art, blending technical skill with conceptual depth. Emami holds an MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and a BA in History from James Madison University.

Her research interests include ceramic materiality, studio practice, and art education. She has exhibited work nationally, including at The Society of Arts and Crafts (Boston) and Greenwich House Pottery (New York City). Emami has held residencies at the Archie Bray Foundation and lectured at institutions such as Harvard University and the Kansas City Art Institute.
