Elisa Bazzechi

Dr. Elisa Bazzechi is a Researcher at the Institute of Classical Archaeology, Faculty of Philosophy, Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg, working on the DFG project "signa marmorea" since 2019. She has held academic positions at the Universities of Vienna and Leipzig, focusing on classical archaeology and sculpture studies.

• Studied Classical Archaeology at Università degli Studi di Firenze and LMU Munich
• PhD at artes Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne (2010–2014)

Her research centers on the topography of Athens, late antique urbanism, and the contextual analysis of ancient sculptures, including the cataloging of collections in the Boboli Gardens (Florence) and the "SteinReich" exhibition. Current projects include "signa marmorea" and a publication on Late Antique Athens with Isabella Baldini.
