Edina Harbinja is a Senior Lecturer at Aston University, specializing in media and privacy law. She holds a PhD from the University of Strathclyde (2017), an LLM with Distinction from the same institution (2011), and an LLB (Hons.) from the University of Sarajevo (2007). Prior to joining Aston University in 2018, she served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire (2014-2018) and as a Tutor at the University of Strathclyde (2012-2014).
Her research examines critical issues at the intersection of law and digital technology, with focus areas including:
- Legal frameworks for post-mortem digital assets and privacy
- Regulatory challenges in digital rights and platform governance
- Theoretical foundations of technology regulation
Her publications demonstrate consistent exploration of digital legacy management, platform regulation, and privacy rights in technology contexts. Recent works show increased focus on comparative legal frameworks and the ethical implications of digital immortality technologies.
