Edīte Parute is an Assistant Professor at the Design Department of the Art Academy of Latvia and a lecturer of fashion history at the LMA Department of Fashion Art since 2000. She is a doctoral candidate at the Latvian Academy of Arts researching "Historical Evolution of Riga Fashion (13th–18th centuries) in the Context of Visual Culture and Socio-Economic Factors" and authored the book "Encyclopedia of Style and Fashion" (2010).
