Vija Strupule is a Researcher at the Institute of Art History since 2022, and an Architectural and Artistic Researcher at Architectural Investigation Group Ltd since 1996. She holds a PhD in Art History (Dr. art.) from the Art Academy of Latvia and is a Certified Senior Restorer in architectural and artistic research. Her work focuses on Latvia’s historical interiors and buildings, particularly interior polychromy and decorative painting from the 13th to 20th centuries.

Her research explores the evolution of interior polychromy, paintings, and architectural designs in Latvia’s historical structures. Key areas include:

- Historical preservation methodologies
- Cultural heritage documentation and restoration
Professional Affiliations:
She contributes to the EU4ART European University consortium, collaborating with institutions like the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts to advance art education curricula.
