Sniedze Kāle is a researcher at the Institute of Art History, affiliated with the Art Academy of Latvia since 2021. Her work focuses on 20th and 21st century art, with expertise in contemporary art criticism and curatorial practices.
Education:

Research Interests: Kāle’s research explores the intersection of Latvian art within broader Soviet-era contexts, particularly the period 1917–1938. Her doctoral work, under Prof. Eduards Kļaviņš, investigates “Latvian artists in Soviet Russia”.
Professional Affiliations: She contributes to the EU4ART European University initiative, collaborating with institutions such as the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts to develop transnational art curricula.
