Inese Sirica is a Research Fellow at the Latvian Academy of Culture, specializing in the formation and representation of Latvian ethnicity in visual arts from the 19th century to the present day. Her work spans academic research, teaching, and thesis supervision.
- Currently researching applied arts and design (1940s–1980s) for the History of Latvian Art (6th volume)
- Principal investigator in projects like Ethnographer, Society, Art: Discourse of Ethnology and Soviet Colonialism in Latvia and Cultural Capital as a Resource for Sustainable Development of Latvia
- Teaches courses including History of Latvian Ethnography, History of Textiles and Textile Art, and Creative and Academic Writing II
